Part Time Energy Auditor
Job Purpose: This is a part-time position to review and evaluate recipients' utility bills and determine energy usage and problem areas with an on-site walk-through of homes in the Navajo Nation.
Job Duties:
- Collect and analyze data pertaining to energy consumption, such as utility bills, energy usage logs, and equipment specifications.
- Utilize specialized tools and equipment, including infrared cameras, data loggers, and energy meters, to measure and evaluate energy performance.
- Work closely with the Housing Rehabilitation Program Coordinator to ensure effective energy auditing and conservation measures.
- Conduct on-site energy audits to identify areas of energy inefficiencies and recommend appropriate energy-saving solutions.
- Prepare detailed reports and present findings to stakeholders, including management and clients, in a clear and concise manner.
- Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies related to energy auditing and conservation.
- Collaborate with team members to develop and implement energy efficiency programs and initiatives.
- Assist in training and educating staff and residents on energy conservation practices and the efficient use of energy resources.
- Maintain accurate records of energy consumption data and audit reports.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations while conducting energy audits and operating specialized equipment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in energy auditing or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting energy consumption data.
- Familiarity with using specialized tools and equipment, such as infrared cameras, data loggers, and energy meters.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify energy-saving opportunities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and analysis.
- Effective communication skills to present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of initiative and self-motivation.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of energy conservation practices and sustainable technologies is advantageous.
- Understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to energy auditing.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to different locations within the Navajo Reservation.
Supervisor: Report to Housing Rehabilitation Coordinator
Location: Navajo Reservation-Mobile Work Site
Position: Part time. 20 hours per week, $15 per hour. Duration of employment is dependent upon available funding.
